For over seven decades, the men and women of Holiday Beach Volunteer Fire Department have stood watch over Rockport and the coastal communities of Aransas County — answering every call, every shift, every season.
Holiday Beach Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1954 by a handful of residents who recognized that the growing coastal community along Aransas Bay needed dedicated first responders. What began as a modest station with two volunteer drivers has grown into a fully equipped fire district serving thousands of year-round and seasonal residents.
Today, our department comprises over 85 trained volunteers — retired military, active-duty service members, tradespeople, teachers, and neighbors — all unified by a single commitment: to answer the call, no matter the hour, no matter the weather.
We operate under the Aransas County Volunteer Fire Department Association and maintain the highest standards of fire suppression, emergency medical response, and hazardous materials preparedness. Our station on Highway 35 North remains a landmark of resilience on the Texas coast.
From structure fires to medical emergencies, from hurricane readiness to youth education — our department provides the full spectrum of first-responder services to Aransas County.
Structure fires, vehicle accidents, brush fires, and hazardous material incidents — our crew responds to every type of fire emergency across the district with rapid deployment and advanced equipment.
Our certified EMTs and paramedics provide advanced life support, cardiac care, trauma stabilization, and medical transport coordination — often the critical link before patient transfer to regional hospitals.
Coastal living demands coastal readiness. We maintain year-round hurricane response plans, evacuation route coordination, and pre-storm safety inspections for vulnerable residents throughout Aransas County.
Prevention is our first priority. We conduct commercial and residential fire inspections, issue permits, review building plans, and work with property owners to eliminate hazards before they become emergencies.
From school visits and campfire safety workshops to CPR certification and senior wellness checks, we bring fire safety education directly into classrooms, churches, and neighborhood associations.
Coastal terrain, bay waters, and remote access roads require specialized search and rescue capabilities. Our trained teams respond to missing persons, water rescues, and wilderness emergencies across the district.
Holiday Beach Volunteer Fire Department exists because neighbors chose to protect neighbors. Every call we answer, every drill we run, and every child we teach about fire safety is a commitment to the communities that call Aransas County home.
We serve a population that swells each winter with seasonal residents and fluctuates with the fishing and tourism seasons. Our volunteers understand that this coast is not just a location — it is a way of life worth safeguarding.
We are always looking for committed individuals to join our ranks — whether as full volunteer firefighters, EMTs, or support roles. No experience required; we provide all training.
